Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line two 8-inch (20cm) round cake tins.
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Sift in self-raising flour and baking powder, then gently fold until combined.
  5. Add milk to loosen the batter if needed.

Step 2: Bake the Cakes
